Skov Called to New Position with National Church

Bishop James L. Jelinek today announced that Canon Bronwyn Clark Skov will depart her position as Leadership Development Officer for the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota.

Bronwyn has been called to be the new Program Officer, Lifelong Christian Formation and Youth for the national church. In this role she will work to equip congregations for youth ministry in the emerging cultural context, provide support for the triennial Episcopal Youth Event (EYE) and General Convention Official Youth Presence, and will work collaboratively within the Center for Evangelism and Congregational Life to develop new vision for lifelong Christian formation ministries at the national level.

"Youth ministry is my passion, but I have long been aware that integration of education and formation programs across the spectrum of age and cultural context is necessary for evangelizing and equipping young people for ministry. Relationships and resources are key. I am eager to partner with colleagues at the church center and across The Episcopal Church to share best practices and to identify and develop resources."

"As a youth minister and diocesan staff member, Bronwyn has been a tireless advocate in this diocese for lay ministry and youth formation," said Bishop Jelinek. "Over the years, we have all benefited from Bronwyn's gifts of discernment and teaching and and we have been moved by her witness to the transformative power of friendship and faith. I have felt tremendously blessed to have served with Bronwyn but am also extremely proud that her gifts will now be shared more intentionally with the wider church."

Bronwyn will not be relocating to a new residence but will be establishing a virtual office and is preparing to engage in a significant amount of travel in her new role. Her last day at the Episcopal Center will be Wednesday, June 10.

Reflecting on her years with the diocese, Skov concludes, "I have had fantastic mentors and colleagues in ministry in this diocese over the past 17 years. It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I journey into a larger arena of ministry faithfully and hopefully. Bless you Minnesota, and thank you."
