St. Matthew's Acts 2 Fund Supports Members in Need
All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need. (Acts 2:44-45)
The current recession has far-reaching implications, touching the lives of congregations and individuals throughout Minnesota. And while we often thinking of serving those in need as individuals outside our church doors, one community, St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, St. Paul, has responded with funds available to members of their own community. The St. Matthew's Acts 2 fund was designed to help struggling members of St. Matthew's with an overwhelming expense, like one month's rent or a hospital bill. In the midst of this recession, this type of boost can be just what is needed to lift an individual or family out of crisis and into sustainability. Respecting the privacy and embarassment that can accompany financial vulnerability, the process is entirely confidential. For more about the Acts 2 fund, contact the Rev. Blair Pogue, 651-645-3058, Rector of St. Matthew's.
