Kevin Shaw has been appointed Director of Development for the Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota. The Rt. Rev. James L. Jelinek, Bishop of Minnesota, announced the appointment on May 14. Kevin will begin work at the end of May.
The 2008 Total Ministry Summit included 59 participants from fifteen congregations from around the diocese. One of the main opportunities for the summit was the opportunity to network with each other and to hear what has worked and what hasn’t been so successful in the various congregations.
As part of the closing events at St. Thomas, the final worship service was held on Sunday, May 25 and the deconsecration of the building was done by Bishop James L. Jelinek on Tuesday, May 27. Both worship services were held with mixed-emotions. At the deconsecration service, Bishop Jelinek comforted and encouraged the St. Thomas family to remain steadfast in their faith in the new ministry realizing that "the presence of God is not tied to any place or building but with God's people wherever they are and wherever they go."
