In learning about the Millennium Development Goals, the J2A (Journey to Adulthood) group at St. Clement's in St. Paul created a stunning cross to lead the procession at the Children's Sabbath services celebrated on Sunday, October 28. The youth designed the cross with 1500 small, "found" objects collected from members of the congregation. With this effort they wanted to individually represent the 1500 children who die in the world each hour from starvation and preventable diseases. This artistic effort is helping to lead the whole congregation towards deeper commitment of
working for the MDG goals. To artistically demonstrate how many of the world's children needlessly die in one day, the youth will be taking 24 pictures of their cross at various places Twin Cities children work and play.

Watch the Weekly News for reports on the "travels" of the cross.
