Diana Rogers leaves Episcopal Center staff
Our Vocations Coordinator is continuing her theological studies at General Seminary
Gayle Marsh steps in as part-time Vocations Officer
The staff at the Episcopal Center has said farewell and Godspeed to Vocations Coordinator Diana Rogers. Diana has been studying at United Theological Seminary in New Brighton for two years, and is leaving the Episcopal Center for her “Anglican year” of seminary work at General Theological Seminary in New York City. She is currently a candidate for the priesthood in the Diocese of Eau Claire.
Diana did a few months of consulting work for the diocese before joining the Episcopal Center staff nearly five years ago. Her job initially included both vocations and assistant office administration, but it evolved into purely vocations work. For the last few years, Diana has been the “shepherd” who helped guide candidates, postulants, and seminarians through the mechanics of the discernment process and into ordination.
Bishop Jelinek praised her work, noting that Diana has brought a sense of both grace and organization to this position.
Diana’s last day in the office will be July 26; she leaves for New York (by train!) on August 15.
Canon Gary Gleason has announced that the Rev. Gayle Marsh, who has just completed her time as chair of the Commission on Ministry, will now be working part time as Vocations Officer at the Episcopal Center, in addition to her position as priest in charge at All Saints, Northfield.
Bishop Jelinek says he is thrilled that Gayle will be assuming this new responsibility, as she brings a wealth of knowledge from her exemplary work on the Commission on Ministry. He added, “if ever there was a seamless transition between two employees, this will be as close as we get.”
Gayle can be contacted at gayle.m@episcopalmn.org and will use the same phone extension as Diana: 612-870-3301.
