Following the proceedings of Convention, Bishop Jelinek said, "'Convention has discerned not to elect a bishop coadjutor. In accordance with the canons, I will discuss this with the Standing Committee in the next few months to determine the best process for the election of a diocesan bishop. My intention to retire June 30, 2010, means the consecration would occur about that time."
