Social media tools and websites, like Facebook, Twitter, and ning sites, are increasingly used for communication. Our congregations and groups in the Diocese of Minnesota are now, more than ever, using these online opportunities to stay in touch and create stronger networks of connection. The intent of this Social Networking Policy statement is to communicate clearly the Diocese of Minnesota’s policy in using these online resources.
Official vs. unofficial forms
All ‘official’ diocesan social media resources are created specifically by the Communications Office of the Diocese of Minnesota. While other online networks may be established, they do not represent the Diocese of Minnesota and are not permitted to represent the diocese or use official diocesan identities, logos, photos, or other graphics associated with the Diocese of Minnesota.
Posting content and discussions
The Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota reserves the right to remove all harmful, derogatory, obscene, or inappropriate content and/or remove the user as a member.
If you have questions about this policy or are seeking guidance on using social media, contact Wendy Johnson, Communications Director, at wendy.j@episcopalmn.org, or 612-870-3303 or 800-596-3839.
