Affiliated Organizations


In addition to the ministries of local congregations, the mission of our diocese is also carried out through the ministry of these organizations. Although independent in terms of governance and finances, they are faithfully supported by Episcopalians throughout Minnesota.

Episcopal Community Services

Episcopal Community Services (ECS) was founded in 1963 to address the health and welfare needs of communities within the state. Grounded in faith, sustained by hope, and acting through love, Episcopal Community Services strengthens and supports adults, youth, children and families at risk and in need.

Episcopal Homes of Minnesota

The mission of Episcopal Homes is to enhance the quality of life for senior adults by providing homes and services that support each individual's physical, social, and spiritual needs. For over 115 years, Episcopal Homes has been welcoming residents from all walks of life. Today Episcopal Homes is nationally recognized as a leader in providing a continuum of housing options and affordability.

The Episcopal House of Prayer

The vision of the Episcopal House of Prayer is to be a contemplative ministry of spiritual transformation, grounded in the Christian tradition, in the practice of Benedictine hospitality, and reaching out and welcoming to all.

The Sheltering Arms Foundation

The Sheltering Arms Foundation's mission is to enhance the lives of children and help them reach their full potential, especially those experiencing barriers to success. As a grantmaking organization, the Foundation supports programs benefiting children and their families in Minnesota who are most vulnerable, have least access to resources, and are least likely to have a wide array of choices about their future. 

The University Episcopal Community

The University Episcopal Community (UEC) is a Chaplaincy to students at the University of Minnesota that provides: spiritual and pastoral care, a physical space for worship, discernment and fellowship, and programs that enhance and direct worship and religious education for U of M students.

The Minnesota Council of Churches

The Minnesota Council of Churches is a community of communions who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. As such, it seeks to manifest within the State of Minnesota the unity of the Church in Christ. Relying on the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, the Council works to bring its members into life-giving fellowship and into common witness, study and action to the glory of God and in service to all creation.

The Joint Religious Legislative Coalition

Guided by God's vision of the common good as reflected in Jewish, Christian, and Islamic traditions, the Joint Religious Legislative Coalition (JRLC) mobilizes religious communities to influence public policy in Minnesota. Core values: human dignity, justice, democratic participation, spirituality of dialogue, prophetic leadership, credibility, action, and leadership development.
